GOLF CHannel's amateur tour shuts down

In a short and briefly worded email and website post, Golf Channel announced the immediate shut down of their GOLF Am Tour on May 13, 2020. Though the news wasn't completely unexpected, the harsh reality of the end to a largely successful endeavor stung many.
No single reason was given for the decision, but the prior COVID-19 cancellation of the season certainly was a major factor in  it. Their is some optimism among tour members that another ownership group will pick the tour up for next season.
